An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chief Engineer to join the Gasoline Product Group of a world leader in the development of powertrain and vehicle technology.
As Chief Engineer, reporting to the Gasoline Product Group Director, you will be responsible for building enduring client relationships in order to understand their needs and develop business opportunities. You will also lead the preparation of proposals and the presentation/selling of these proposals. You will manage and deliver project work carried out by the product group under your responsibility, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers and liaising with the client. You will be technically and financially responsible for projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time and to the quality required by the customer. You will be expected to keep up-to-date on industry trends, products, processes and existing/proposed legislation.
This role offers a diverse and varied workload with projects ranging significantly in scope and size and a real opportunity to take full responsibility for project delivery. As such there will be a requirement to spend time out of the office developing business and delivering projects.
As the ideal candidate, you will hold an Engineering degree and demonstrate a proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams to deliver against a range of projects in the automotive sector. Technically you will have experience in design and development, ideally within the gasoline engine sector although other areas of engine/powertrain/vehicle development will also be considered.
As importantly, you will be able to impart your technical knowledge with ease, conviction and credibility to our customers and your colleagues. You will be commercially astute and possess excellent negotiation and communications skills.
