In their deep water technical solutions department they require a Chief Engineer for the Structural and Mechanical systems reporting into the overall engineering manager.
This role is a staff position and the main duties will involve:
*Serving as the lead technical authority for structural and mechanical design work
*Acting as the technical authority and maintaining the technical integrity of all applicable proposals & Projects
*Preparing the engineering calculations and analysis, design and fabrication drawings and reviewing, checking and approving these
*Undertake risk assessments
*Lead project teams and participate in all aspects of the planning, design and production of engineering designs and equipment
*Taking responsibility for the commercial aspects including costing, scheduling and technical matters
*Adhering to the company QA standards and procedures
*Supporting proposals and marketing efforts
*Management and training of staff.
They want someone with a proven track record in this environment but they are not going to exclude someone that would be taking a step up into this role and are completely willing to consider this for a talented individual with the right skills.
To be able to carry out this role with the required level of technical authority and take responsibility for this department, you should have experience working as a design engineer or other related role combining work and management of offshore and subsea projects and managing engineering personnel.
You should ideally have an HNC/BSc in an engineering discipline (ie Mechanical, Structural or related), will be chartered (or near chartered) and will have spent time working in a similar type of environment. You should have the ability to manage projects with responsibility for technical content, quality, costing and planning.
You have a technical knowledge of marine and offshore/subsea production equipment and operations and will be proficient in the use of AutoCAD, MathCAD, Solidworks (or equivalent), FS2000 MS Project and MS office.
Familiarity with the following equipment is extremely desirable:
*Structural steelwork
*Lifting and handling systems
*Offshore operations and Installation
*Pressure vessels and pipework
*Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
*Remotely operated vehicles and related tooling
*Soils and foundations
*Relevant design and manufacturing codes and requirements
