CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, RADIOLOGICAL & NUCLEAR ENGINEERS
INTELLIGENT NUCLEAR CLEAN -UP
BASED CHESHIRE/ CUMBRIA/GLOUCESTERSHIRE
Our client is a respected specialist decommissioning and remediation contracting business which provides core technical and engineering expertise to nuclear customers worldwide in dealing with the global nuclear legacy. They are dedicated to providing fit for purpose waste and decommissioning solutions and allied products and services. This customer facing enterprise now has excellent opportunities for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Engineers.
Front line support for homeland security in the UK is perhaps not something you would instantly associate with a company whose history is steeped in the nuclear industry. However, many of the specialist skills, equipment and analysis techniques are directly applicable to the constant war on terrorism. Recognising that the business has specialist assets that can be deployed in new market areas a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) group has been formed. The group is working with a wide customer base from government agencies through to end users in a number of market areas.

Ideally, you will be a Chartered Engineer or Scientist and hold an Honours Degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, although HNC/D in an engineering or scientific discipline supported by direct experience in CBRNE arena would be suitable.
You should have knowledge and experience of specialist modelling software for CBRNE applications and proven experience of working in a contracting organisation or consultancy. An extensive experience in CBRNE gained in a military/defence or similar environment is acceptable.
You must be able to identify and state clear and concise requirements and specifications, be able to supervise designers or subcontractors to produce scheme/design drawings together with producing accurate estimates. You should be flexible as you may be asked to work at different locations in the UK. You should also have the willing of working the hours to get the job done, rather than 9 to 5 mentality. With excellent written, verbal, presentation and communication skills, engineering judgment and ability to develop realistic solutions, you will also have good visualisation skills and spatial awareness.
