Matchtech are currently working in partnership with VT Environmental Engineering, which has resulted in an opportunity for a Chemical Process Engineer to join their team based in Portchester, Portsmouth.
VTEE have recently acquired a £700 million pound project for a new waste recycling plant in Wakefield.
The main task is to support the development of systems covering a broad range of waste management and treatment facilities. This will include:
- Assisting in the development of solutions to customer requirements
- Evaluation of the impact of chemicals in waste on the design and operation of various waste treatment technologies, including:
- Material selection
- Through life impacts of corrosion and erosion
- Health and safety aspects
- Undertaking Research and Development projects
The role requires a good broad understanding of the UK waste market.
This includes the chemicals that are likely to be found in the waste stream, and those generated by the treatment processes.
A good understanding of developing technologies for processing waste is required.
Knowledge:
Understanding of chemicals found in household waste
Corrosion and erosion effects on materials found in mechanical and thermal treatment facilities
The position involves liaising with customers, suppliers, and technical advisors; and includes occasional travel within the UK.
