An opportunity to work at one of Europe's most modern shipbuilding facilities.
As a qualified skilled tradesman, you will be reporting to a Team Leader and support the management team in their area(s) to work with and oversee Leading Hands, Tradesmen, Trainees and Ancillaries.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Assuming day-to-day responsibilities for job allocation.
To plan and manage their work and teams.
To assist team members in achieving their objectives by Hands On production work.
To report progress, to supervise activity target hours and make every effort to ensure that these targets are achieved or bettered.
To promote and manage the principles of self-certification.
To ensure that all working Practices within their area(s) are safe and comply with current H&S legislation and Practices.
To actively promote continuous improvement and to implement change that improves business performance.
To assist, support, direct, develop and oversea Leading Hands, tradesmen, trainees and ancillaries when required.
To maintain the key skills in the department.
To manage production teams, projects and tasks as required. To be aware of key project milestone dates and to motivate teams and individuals to achieve these dates.
Role Requirements:
To be aware of Project Programs (i.e. inspections, milestones etc), forward planning on a 2 week rolling program basis and supervise the team to achieve these objectives.
To deputise for the Team Leader in their absence.
To hold/participate in team briefs.
The Successful Candidate will have proven experience within the relevant discipline, have proven people management experience, have a pro-active approach to problem solving.
Good knowledge of absence management and basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word / Excel / PowerPoint).
The basic salary is £25,209, with overtime premiums paid after 37 hours as well as an uplift on shift work.
