Description
Leading consultancy that has experienced significant growth within their energy team in 2008 are looking to recruit a number of highly experienced and motivated consultants for the position of Carbon Management Consultant in their London office.
The role will be to:
- Deliver industrial energy efficiency services to clients leading to a sustainable reduction in energy consumption.
- Analyse energy consumption patterns using regression analysis to establish relationships between energy use and production activities (or other drivers).
- Conduct energy surveys, audits and process analysis to gather relevant process and energy consumption data.
- Develop technical and strategic solutions to energy efficiency issues. This might involve design of heat recovery systems (but not individual items of equipment), selection of boilers, air compressors, refrigeration equipment, meters and measurement systems, monitoring and targeting software.
You will need to become familiar and keep up to date with Climate Change and Emissions Trading legislation, provide general technical support to senior members of the team, assist colleagues with market research and the delivery of project work and to support the team with business development and sales activities.
You will need a degree that will come from an Engineering background and possess considerable experience of carbon reduction projects in either industry or buildings. Experience of energy management in an industrial or commercial environment would be useful but is not essential as is a good understanding of climate change issues and the mitigation measures that businesses can carry out to reduce carbon emissions
Applicants will preferably be currently operating as a consultant although candidates from a process or building design engineering background who think they can adapt their knowledge to a consultancy role will be considered. You will also possess strong project management skills, strong client interfacing skills and the ability to gain buy in' from senior managers is desirable. Good communication skills, a team player and the ability to work to deadlines are all important aspects of the role.
An excellent salary and benefits package is on offer. They actively encourage membership of professional institutions and will support candidates seeking to become chartered engineers or scientists on an individual basis.
