The Cost Assurance Service (CAS) is an essential component of the MoDs contracting strategy and is mandated to provide cost
estimating and pricing services to the Land, Air and Maritime industrial sectors.
We are looking for a formal qualification in an engineering discipline that could provide the foundation for entry to the CAS Cost
Engineering Training programme. Cost estimating, production planning, project management and commercial experience could
reduce the time needed to achieve accreditation by an internationally recognised body. In return, we can offer you outstanding

A BSc Degree or degree standard membership of a professional institution, plus a relevant post-graduate experience are necessary.
Alternatively, BTEC/SCOTVEC, HNC/HND together with relevant experience are also acceptable.
*New entrants will normally attract the minimum of the pay scale, currently £24,725. However, Higher Starting Pay (HSP) has been
approved to a maximum of £27,292. Any offer of HSP will depend on your level of experience and qualifications.
Applicants should note that these posts may transfer to a new employer depending upon the outcome of a current project. If you are
appointed and you are still in post on the date that the work transfers, you will transfer to a new employer under TUPE regulations.
