CE Software Engineer - Worcestershire
Perform software development of retail and OEM products for the visually impaired and dyslexic running on Windows Mobile (Pocket PC and Smartphone).
Port existing Windows products and code to the Windows Mobile platform.
Bug fixing of existing products.
Perform technical research into a variety of areas to solve problems.
Provide assistance to the technical support staff as necessary.
Provide technical input to the product design team.
Write technical documentation and specifications as required.
Testing alpha and beta code.
Provide time estimates for development tasks.
Liaise with 3rd party testing and code signing organisations.
Technical evaluation of competitive products.
Required Qualifications.
Degree level in an Engineering or Science subject.
Required Experience.
At least 5 years in a software engineering role.
Required Knowledge.
C/C++, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, WIN32 API, Windows CE/Mobile development.
Specialist Knowledge.
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous.
Windows Mobile 5 and 6 (Smartphone and Pocket PC) Development
Windows CE Platform Builder
Reverse Engineering of Windows applications and kernel.
Microsoft Windows Native API (WIN32).
COM
ARM Assembler
Real-time software.
Personality
Ability to work well in a team. Good communication skills, Good attention to detail. Good problem solving skills, Ability to work without constant supervision.
