Description

A leading housing development company require a professional individual to become their CDM Manager; you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with CDM 2007 regulations.

A leading housing development company require a professional individual to become their CDM Manager; you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with CDM 2007 regulations.

You will ensure the key roles under the CDM Regulations are complied with. Namely provision of adequate information to all relevant parties (including ensuring additional works e.g. surveys are done), advising on competence of key roles, working with in house and external designers, notification to the HSE, managing the flow of information, assisting in developing the construction phase plan and where necessary, ensuring the health and safety file is developed and procured.
You will provide feedback and work closely with the Health, Safety and Environmental Managers to ensure the continual improvement of the systems and to ensure they meet legal and other requirements (such as ISO/OHSAS standards).
You will report on an informal and formal basis on progress to the UK Health and Safety Director.
You will assist with the implementation of the management systems across all areas of the organisation including Design, Commercial and other head office functions in addition to site activities.
You will also provide training/coaching to personnel on CDM related issues.
You will have an understanding of relevant Statutes and Statutory instruments affecting the Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems e.g. CDM, MHSWR, Control of Pollution Act.

You will have understanding of the requirements of the three pertinent management standards (ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001).
You will have practical understanding of methods of implementing and monitoring compliance with management systems.
You will have demonstrable people management skills and the ability to create reports to deadlines.
You will develop and deliver training material for the management systems.
You will also have Knowledge of employment law.
