Description
CAE Systems Analyst
We are supporting a global, diverse technology leader and the World's largest and most successful engine company. Our client leads the field in the design and manufacture of high-performance engines. They are committed to an expansion programme throughout 2007 and beyond that includes the acquisition of a wide range of engineering specialists within: Mechanical Engineering, CAE, Performance & Emissions, Electronics, Global Engine Development and Aftertreatment.
The Role:
Whole power-train (engine, electronic control unit, gearbox and vehicle) performance analysis and optimisation
Engine sub-system analysis and optimisation (oil, coolant, fuel - all non-CFD)
Using commercial and in-house developed software & processes
Development of new processes and tools
Plant model creation for use in Software in the Loop (SiL) and Hardware in the Loop (HiL) analyses
Creation of concept control strategies within a multi departmental team
Virtual calibration of control strategies
Supporting test-bed / installation activities to validate models and control strategies when necessary
Identification of new and improved engineering methods and processes
Technical ownership and financial control of individual projects
Report writing and preparation of project related presentation material
Requirements:
An understanding of Diesel engine operation and technology essential
Experience with cycle simulation analysis of engine performance (e.g. Ricardo WAVE or GT-Power) essential
Pro-active, questioning & positive mindset, enthusiastic, self-starter essential
Good communication skills (written and oral) essential
Experience with simulation of exhaust gas after-treatment devices desirable
Matlab SIMULINK experience desirable
Engine test experience desirable
