CAD Technician
To undertake responsibility for the detailing of precast products, in accordance with Engineers instructions, and ensuing manufacturing input to factories. To ensure that all contracts meet the specific agreement set out in the tender specification. To provide detailing support for both Civils and Structures market sectors and related precast products. To be able to progress work with a minimum level of supervision, and to act on own initiative to achieve goals.
Major Tasks
1.Respond to Team Leaders / Design Managers requests.
2.Develop details at tender stage to a level sufficient for estimators to provide a firm price.
3.Co-ordinate detailing of designs for tender submissions.
4.Detailing of company products including checking the work of other members of the detailing team.
5.To fully understand the factory requirements with regards to correct detailing and information.
Job Activities
1.Detailing Issues - Contract Related
a.Communicate with the factory concerning detailing issues.
b.Feedback information to relevant design team members
c.Liaise with relevant personnel to ensure that detailing is carried out in accordance to the production requirements
d.Report discrepancies by means of Non Conformance report to the relevant departments.
e.Detail in accordance with the standard specification to ensure that drawings are of the same calibre throughout the business in terms of layout, layers, fonts etc.
2.Tender Design & Detailing
a.Assist in preparation of tender submissions.
3.Conversion of Tender Designs to Scheme Details
aAs required, assist in carrying out detailed schemes or assist others to do so.
4.Product detailing
aEnsure detailing and design philosophy used at tender stage is implemented on schemes.
bAssist the Team Leader in monitoring material content and progress of detailing work.
cComplete detailing work to relevant standards. Monitor progress of work including checking function and compliance with QA requirements.
