We have an immediate requirement for a C&I Design Engineer with a key client operating in the Nuclear industry.

Job Summary
Our client is one of the country's leading designers of complex facilities at nuclear-licensed sites. We are currently undertaking design services in support of an ongoing programme of modernisation and refurbishment at 2 major sites in Berkshire.

We are seeking applications from experienced Control & Instrumentation Design Engineers to join the multi-discipline design team working on this exciting major project.

You will be responsible for Co-ordination of the C&I Engineering and design with other discipline engineers to ensure an integrated and fully co-ordinated design is delivered to the client. You will contribute to the C&I engineering programme for the design and ensure it is compatible with the safety case. You will be directly responsible to the E,C&I discipline lead.

Requirements

Essential
Due to the nature of work undertaken at our client's site, incumbents of these positions are required to meet special nationality rules and therefore this vacancy is only open to sole British Citizens. Applicants who meet this criteria will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting, if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.

Knowledge and experience of the following areas would be beneficial but we will also consider applications from candidates with transferable skills from a non- nuclear background:
Nuclear safety case issues
Reliability issues and SIL rating of equipment
Shielding and filtering requirements to protect Control and Instrumentation and electrical systems against EMP effects
Def Stan 5941
EMC Control Plan
Constraints to operations on a nuclear licensed site
Project management, including controls, planning and estimating and preparation of deliverable/work package documentation
Working within a multi-discipline engineering team and having a general appreciation of other disciplines' constraints and requirements
NII site licence conditions and the constraints placed on site operations, including project implementation

Desirable
Ideally working towards Chartership (we will support you in this)
Experience in the civil or military nuclear industry or other regulated industry
