Hours- Normal working week 9.00am - 5.15pm daily (9.00am - 5.00pm on Fridays), with one hour for lunch.

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, technically competent Buyer working within the Purchasing Department. The Buyer will be working for a market global player in measuring systems.
As the Buyer you will be required to carry out the following;
•Procurement of predominantly electro-mechanical components and assemblies in line with production requirements
•Sourcing of component parts from low cost countries in particular an advantage.
•Ability to interface with manufacturing and design departments.
•To effectively manage the procurement of components and assemblies meeting cost and delivery requirements.
•Work on designated projects as specified by the Group Quality and Supply Chain Manager.
Key Requirements for the Role
•Working with-in a MRP (MRPII desirable) medium batch manufacturing environment.
•The Buyer will have experience of sourcing and purchasing metals and electrical components and assemblies.
•Negotiating price/cost reduction agreements
•Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (training on in-house systems will be given
•The Buyer will have experience in Purchasing/Supply Chain experience.
•Expediting experience
•Electro/ mechanical engineering background preferred.
•Experience of overseas sourcing in particularly low cost economies
•Ability to read engineering drawings not essential but a real advantage
