Objective:
To procure a defined range of products at competitive prices, consistent with the Companys requirements for quality, service and business practice.
Responsibilities:
Develop commodity strategies to identify suitable technologies, and/or preferred suppliers, with whom AML can enter into a long-term business relationship.
Demonstrate a confident and mature approach to teamwork, and to provide purchasing I commercial input into a cross-functional team that will contribute towards meeting a predefined set of organisational, departmental and programme objectives.
Confidently enter into total cost and contractual negotiations with current and potential suppliers, and to identify cost saving opportunities.
Ensure suppliers have the capacity to support both production and pre-production builds with parts that meet the quality, cost and delivery needs of the business.
Demonstrate an ability to analyse cost data, and have a working knowledge of manufacturing processes in the automotive sector.
Recognition and understanding of PPAP and APOP, and the benefits they bring to our business.
Understand the tools and techniques used in Industry to close cost gaps, whilst maintaining supplier relationships.
Identify new technical developments, automotive and non automotive, through various sources.
Certifies invoices and clears price queries in a timely manner.
Qualifications/Experience:
Education to Degree Level
Experience in a Purchasing role preferable
Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply would be advantageous
