Matchtech Group are recruiting for a Buyer on behalf of a FTSE100 utilities organisation, located in Birmingham.

Reporting to a Category Manager within the Operations Support Purchasing Team, you will provide procurement leadership within your own portfolio of spend, ensuring targeted levels of cost savings and efficiencies are identified and delivered.

You will place, review and renew contracts within your portfolio of spend, challenging, influencing and selling strategies and solutions at all levels within the business and the supply chain.

You will identify potential risks, vulnerabilities or opportunities within supply markets and develop action plans appropriately, in order to reduce supply chain risk.

Previous purchasing experience essential in order to carry out this role. You should also have well developed negotiation skills, strong influencing skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should have the ability to manage your own workload in order to reach your targets, be self motivated and a strong team player.

It would be desirable for you to have had experience of purchasing services as well as materials in the following areas: facilities management, laboratory supplies, grounds maintenance, chemicals, disposals.

Experience of purchasing within EU Procurement regulations would also be an advantage.

Ideally you are MCIPS qualified/studying towards, or willing to study.
