Our Hampshire based client urgently requires a Buyer with extensive purchasing experience within an engineering environment. Mechanical background is essential. The suitable candidate will need the following experience:
"Computer literate using Windows software and hands on use of ERP / MRP Business systems.
"Detailed understanding of Mechanical Purchasing both at component and sub assembly level.
"Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
"Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
"Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
"Employee development and performance management skills.
"Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
"Ability to define action plans in support of targets and objectives.
"Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the wider organization.
"Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
"Strong understanding of Sourcing; Supplier Selection & Performance Monitoring; Purchasing and Negotiation techniques.
"Detailed understanding of ISO9001 requirements and its application to suppliers.
"The ability to build strong relationships with internal functional counterparts
