Our client is an oil & gas company working in the drilling and services sector. They are seeking a buyer to join the team.

The role of buyer is to provide support to the manufacturing function by ensuring that products are procured and delivered in a timely manner.

Duties & Responsibilities
* Place orders for a variety of materials, equipment and finished products from the approved suppliers list
* Expedite existing purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
* Identify & source potential new suppliers
* Negotiate prices and deliveries for quotations and new orders
* Co-ordinate with CDW & Inventory for utilization/conversion of existing stock
* Handle special projects/ad-hoc duties as required

Skill Requirements
* Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial
* Knowledge of inventory management processes and MRP systems would be beneficial
* Skills in the use of Microsoft Office packages
* Communication skills
* Organizational skills
* Planning skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
* Ability to work under pressure

Experience
* HND or equivalent
* Some previous experience of working with inventory in either operations, manufacturing, engineering or distribution would be beneficial
* Experience of purchasing goods to be used in the manufacturing process would be beneficial
