Description
A unique and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to further develop the Waste division of a global independent consultancy company.
Due to continuous growth of the company there is the need to capitalise further on the waste management sector.
A unique and challenging opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager to further develop the Waste division of a global independent consultancy company.
Due to continuous growth of the company there is the need to capitalise further on the waste management sector. This company are committed to providing solutions to the twin problems of a shortage of landfill sites and concern about environmental impacts, and are already involved in helping the sector respond to growing government pressure for the development of recycling, treatment and incineration facilities.
Responsibilities:-To provide and communicate business opportunities within & across the Divisions, building these into Divisional and Advisory Group business plans.
-To undertake a strategic market review in the Waste sector including clients, services and locations and identify opportunities for profitable growth.
-To develop a business plan for the Waste sector, confirming those market areas that build on the company's existing strengths and capabilities and identifying development areas.
-To share information across the Divisions to stimulate awareness of opportunities within the sector.
-To liaise with the Marketing and Communications Support Group to develop awareness of the Company within this sector (exhibitions, publications etc)
-To develop own and Company profile within the sector via committee membership, papers etc.
-To provide advice on waste management facilities, including recycling systems and waste collection, treatment, transfer and disposal for all phases of the life cycle (planning, impact assessments, permitting, design, construction supervision and operation)
-Advise local authorities and waste companies on the procurement of waste management services.
-Advise local authorities on their waste management plans and strategies
Requirements:-The right candidate will have a proven ability in influencing at senior levels, and can demonstrate a sound commercial awareness.
-Chartered Engineer or Scientist or equivalent accreditation to support the complex nature of business development and technical input required for the position.
-Significant experience at a senior level within the sector
-Experience of business development
-Experience of working and influencing within a matrix management structure
-The candidate should preferably have a consultancy background and should have experience working with local authorities, waste companies and contractors.
Salary:-£30-40k (dependant on experience)
