To effectively carry out the M&E planned maintenance and reactive works at the various Thames Water sites in the Reading and Swindon areas.

All applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

The contract covers the various HQ's and non-operational depots covering the Thames Valley from Reading through to Swindon. There is high degree of customer contact which will require that a good working relationship is developed and maintained.

Principle Accountabilities:


Receive and take responsibility of work from the office and follow through to a satisfactory completion.
Carrying out of minor electrical/mechanical installations and repair works.
Operating/monitoring all plant & equipment to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
Monitoring and reporting of work progress to the Contract Supervisor.
Co-ordinate, liaise and action any contract variations/orders requested by the client.
Liaison between the contract supervisor, operatives and the office.
Maintain control on hired and company owned plant/tools, PPE, including routine inspection equipment.
Efficient planning of works, ordering of materials and submissions of relevant service sheets.
Complying with contract requirements to ensure SLA's and KPI's are met.
Supervision and co-ordination of sub-contractors (including access)and any inter company support.
H & Safety observance, including raising of Method Statements, Risk/COSHH Assessments.
Quality Assurance & IMS observance, including compliance with Statutory Regulations and Permits to Work.
Observing and adhering to Company Policies and Procedures.
Ensure a good working relationship is maintained and developed with the client & other service providers.
Liaising with the site client representative and keeping the customer informed of progress.
Attend meetings and training courses as and when required.
Weekly submission and submission of paperwork, including SM sheets of work undertaken, risk assessments, mileage sheets, timesheets, reports ,etc.
Being on a callout roster (including out-of-hours)
Carry out any other duties as directed as and when required.


Qualifications and Experience:

At least 5 years experience within a similar role.
City & Guild/ONC in a building services discipline, particularly electrical with mechanical experience.
Multi-skilled M&E building services ability ie., AP/LV (Electrical) and CP (Pressure Systems, Gas, Water).
Training undertaken for AP & CP compliance.
Knowledge of BMS systems and their implementation an advantage.
Good IT skills.
Good level of interpersonal and customer relationship skills.

Influencing skills with customers, helpdesk and site management
Ability to sustain effective relationships by regular contacts & updates with site management
Ability to plan and organise the annual PPM and reactive works

Reliability to complete works in a satisfactory manner
Responsibility to oversee specialist subcontractors and the completion of service sheets
Resilience in recovering any job failures and monitoring/updating site management
Strategic Awareness of client's investment in the proper maintenance of their plant/equipment
Commercial focus in a good PPM & reactive regime to reduce contract costs
Able to display personal commitment and use own initiative in an operational multi-disciplinary environment.
