You wont find an easy life at FCO Services. Join us, and youll work on some of the most complex and challenging building and construction projects on Earth. Youll have an impact on issues like national security and climate change too.
Whichever role you take, one of your biggest challenges will be to translate and adapt UK methods and standards into safe, workable solutions in overseas environments where conditions can be significantly more difficult and challenging.
This means that as well as technical experts the elite of their field were also looking for personable professionals. Credibility, commitment and qualifications will need to sit alongside excellent communication and man management skills. Because not only are you managing the projects as they happen, wherever they happen; you may be discussing them with diplomats and officials at the highest level.

Based in our central London office, you will be responsible for providing technical estate management advice and support to a number of overseas posts. Day-to-day work will include the completion of building condition surveys, Property Health & Safety Inspections and production of Forward Maintenance Registers (FMR). You will also be responsible for giving professional advice and producing specifications for works, producing tender documents, recommending tenderers and managing the works as required by posts. You may also be asked to carry out supervision/project management of larger or more complex projects on behalf of FCO Services.
Qualified to at least ONC/HNC level in a suitable building related subject with significant relevant experience, membership of a professional body is desirable (but not essential). You must be prepared to travel overseas, often at short notice, for up to two weeks duration.
