A leading broadcast organisation is seeking an experienced scheduling engineer to be responsible for the maintenance and strategic enhancement of delivery and audibility of customers' programmes.
A leading broadcast organisation is seeking an experienced scheduling engineer to be responsible for the maintenance and strategic enhancement of delivery and audibility of customers' programmes.
With strong knowledge of LF/MF, HF and VHF propagation, the ideally engineer will come from a Mobile Network/Rail/Aerospace background, and will be expected to provide advice on how to meet customer requirements for programme delivery, specifically providing technical advice on meeting the customers' broadcast requirements.
You will be expected to proactively contribute to the frequency management process, regularly attending international co-ordination conferences to negotiate effective co-operative use of resources with International broadcasters
Key Tasks:
- Ensure that options for delivery of a customers' programme are cost-effective.
- Work closely with Operations Managers (SFM), Operations Manager (Control Room), and Frequency Managers to ensure changes to schedule are incorporated as required.
- Work closely with the Customer Relations Officers offering guidance regarding the schedule resources required to meet the customers' needs.
- To negotiate the release of transmission resources for maintenance while ensuring audibility is not adversely affected.
- Incorporate programme changes as and when required.
- To ensure customers requirements meet audibility levels required.
Essential Qualifications/Experience
- Qualifications to HNC/HND level or equivalent
- Experience of programme delivery or related skill
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Components: (Excel, Access, Word), IT literate with knowledge of computer databases
- Good knowledge of LF/MF, HF and VHF propagation
- Good knowledge of geography and country demographics
Desirable Qualifications/Experience
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- An interest in broadcasting, telecommunications and current affairs
- Understanding of the international frequency management process
