This is an excellent opportunity to join a global tobacco company in the south.
Located in Southampton our client is one of the world's leading tobacco companies. Their R&D Group is currently looking for a blend modification engineer to join them on a full time basis.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. To conduct feasibility studies aimed at identifying and assessing process solutions for novel product manufacture
2. To design and develop viable pilot processes and prototype machinery
3. To plan and manage joint development projects with suppliers of equipment and / or materials according to current best practices to time and budget
4. To source specified production equipment and manage the design, build, installation and validation phases
5. To advise on technical aspects relating to the manufacturing processes for novel products
6. To effectively manage intellectual property relating to engineering project activities
7. To develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of process capability to progress novel smoking materials manufacture
8. Proven ability to obtain and disseminate relevant information from appropriate sources, interpret data and report project progress or make oral presentations to management as required
REQUIREMENTS:
1.An engineering degree in, ideally, Process / Chemical Engineering with strong experience in a design engineering or R&D environment with experience of projects requiring the development and operation of novel processes, probably in a hygienic industry
2.Proven project management skills, is focused and uses initiative and enterprise and effectively mobilises resources to get things done
3.Innovative, able to generate and progress original concepts
4.Experience from working in a design / development department or an FMCG manufacturing operation would be advantageous
5.AutoCAD proficient
6.Effective problem solving skills
7.Good team working skills are essential
8.Computer literacy Excel, Word, Project
