We are seeking an experienced Battery Assembly Technician to perform electro-mechanical assembly and associated test activities in the production of high voltage battery systems and lower voltage battery modules for our Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) project.
An automotive OEM requires a Battery Assembly Technician
We are seeking an experienced Battery Assembly Technician to perform electro-mechanical assembly and associated test activities in the production of high voltage battery systems and lower voltage battery modules for our Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) project. The successful candidate will have previous experience in precision mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic system assembly, potentially gained through an Electric/Hybrid Vehicles, Aerospace or Rail Vehicle Traction environment. Experience of soldering, welding or brazing in a precision environment is also desirable, but not essential.
Typical duties will include:
Assembly of high voltage battery systems and modules following assembly drawings, wiring diagrams and safety guidelines.
Perform testing on battery modules and high voltage battery systems, to include standard validation as needed.
Perform testing on battery management systems to verify functional performance. Troubleshoot and repair high voltage battery systems as needed.
Maintain detailed records of assembly and test work, inventory and stock.
Candidates will have a:
Fundamental knowledge of electrical system behaviour and fault diagnosis
Methodical, thorough and tidy approach to work
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly documentation
The ability to think out of the box' to identify problems and propose solutions
Good communication and organisational skills
PC skills to include MS Word, MS Excel and operation of PC based test equipment.
Flexible approach to working hours linked to meeting test or race deadlines
