Body and Closures Project Engineers will work in the Body design group and will be required to:
Provide Body in White Engineering support of the physical phase of development with the

Assystem UK as the Master Vendor to a Global Vehicle manufacturer based in Bedfordshire have long term contract opportuniites for Body and Closures Project Engineers to work on a new vehicle programme. Body and Closures Project Engineers will work in the Body design group and will be required to:
Provide Body in White Engineering support of the physical phase of development with the manufacturing plants, acting as engineering liaison for upper body design.
Design body metal components/assemblies & function parts such as locks and body sealing systems
Carry out BIW engineering feasibility studies and packaging layouts.
Body Engineers to make styling feedback to Client Design Office
Create component concepts.
Control piece/ vendor tooling costs through PDT activity (supplier negotiation).
Control component mass.
Body Engineers will represent the Body group at key project milestone meetings.
BIW Engineer will visit Suppliers as part of co-development, as and when required.
Provide support to manufacturing to enhance product quality.
Experience Required
Experience of BIW / Body design for a major OEM or tier 1 supplier
Previous experience of CAD systems ideally Sdrc IDEAS (I-deas) will be beneficial
