Description
Our Client is a world-class manufacturer of plasterboard and associated building materials. They have the requirement for an Automation Engineer to join their existing team, to work on the design, installation, commissioning and technical support of PLC based product control systems, PC based supervisory systems, Plant data communication networks and plant electrical systems.

They have the requirement for an Automation Engineer to join their existing team, to work on the design, installation, commissioning and technical support of PLC based product control systems, PC based supervisory systems, Plant data communication networks and plant electrical systems. Candidates should have prior experience of Automation Engineering with relevant formal qualification in Electrical or Electronic engineering.
Automation Engineer required to provide leadership on capital projects with responsibility for automation to deliver correct technical content, cost management and on-time completion.
Accountabilities include:
•Design, installation, commissioning and technical support of:
PLC based product control systems
PC based supervisory systems
Plant data communication networks
Plant electrical systems
•Produce automation and process control feasibility studies.
•Coordinate automation projects with responsibility for technical content, cost management and on-time completion.
•Manage Contractor resources.
•Ensure full documentation of all projects and systems.
•Provide training for operators and maintenance personnel.
Job Requirements
•Educated to degree level in Electrical or Electronic Engineering along with employment experience or HNC/HND level but demonstrating considerable experience.
•With experience in development and implementation of PLC based supervisory and control systems along with experience in electrical, process control, instrumentation, automation, computer and data communication systems.
•Understanding of integrated automation and information systems in a manufacturing environment.
•Familiar with variable speed drives and servo systems
•Experience working in multi discipline project teams with good interpersonal skills to operate effectively in a team environment.
•Innovative and initiative abilities to provide leadership.
•Willingness to travel extensively in the UK and overseas.
•Experience with WinCC or Wonderwear SCADA packages along with RS Logix and Siemens S7 PLCs would be advantageous.
