Our client is a profitable Civil Engineering Contractor with a climate of stability. They have recently been awarded a prestigious Water Treatment Plant in East London and are looking for an Assistant QS to compliment their existing team.
Our client is a profitable Civil Engineering Contractor with a climate of stability. They have recently been awarded a prestigious Water Treatment Plant in East London and are looking for an Assistant QS to compliment their existing team. This is an exciting role where the successful candidate will benefit from being actively involved from the inception of the project. It also offers an excellent learning ground for a candidate with some experience working on Civil Engineering projects to advance to the next level of responsibility.
Key duties for the Assistant QS include:-
Undertake costing activities for the Section Quantity Surveyor and Senior QS
• Resolve material and plant invoice queries as required.
• Produce and check materials and plant costings.
• Check processed invoices and maintain invoice documents for future reference.
• Maintain materials records on site for valuation.
• Measure completed works for allocated sections of the work for interim and final accounts.
• Assist in valuation of changes to original costs.
• Participate in recording of and payment of subcontracted work.
• Regular liaison with Senior QS on progress
• Attend meetings and training sessions as required.
• Carry out other relevant duties as required by Supervising QS or Senior QS.
