Description
National Grid is the largest utility in the UK and the second largest utility in the US. We play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and the Northeast US in an efficient, reliable and safe manner.
As Area Engineer (Critical Sites), youll play a key role in maximising the strategic impact of this portfolio by supervising key maintenance and repair programmes in your area. In order to ensure high quality service delivery within the defined sites, youll manage contracts and contractors, develop team members and minimise risk by promoting a culture of Health & Safety and environmental awareness. Using your detailed technical and operational knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems, heating and ventilation, building maintenance youll develop and implement energy utilisation/reduction techniques in line with annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
With a thorough knowledge of contract management, budget management and all British and European Standards and Regulations applicable to the operation and maintenance of buildings. Youll be qualified in building or electrical and mechanical engineering at HNC or equivalent
