Description
Arboricultural Officer
Our client is seeking an assistant to the current arboricultural officer, in order to look after the trees on the highways in the borough.
To help supervise the management of the contractors dealing with arboricultural / forestry issues on site.
To look after around 20,000 trees on and around the highways in the area with regards to re-planting, removal and damage along with other arboriculture related issues.
Our client is looking for an individual with an enthusiasm for forestry, the environment or arboriculture.
Essential:
Excellent communication skills
Proficient with general IT packages (MS Office, Word, Outlook etc)
Understanding of and enthusiasm for environmental issues
Desirable:
Relevant qualification (Royal Forestry Society, Arboricultural Certificate)
Practical Experience
Arbitrack (IT Package)
Applicants who have a background within Highways Maintenance who have a sound understanding of CDM & NRSWA would also be welcome to apply.
This role is set to last initially for a contract period of 6 months, after that point there is a strong chance of the role changing from temporary to permanent.
