APPLICATIONS ENGINEER - COLCHESTER To £28000
To take customers specifications and create innovative, cost effective designs for controls systems to suit requirements. The role will therefore require a person experienced in control systems design including PLC programming (ladder logic), and who enjoys customer interfacing with both via the phone and face-to-face, which will include worldwide travel. Interested?

Duties
Working closely with the Tendering Engineer, you will take their outlines and produce designs of control systems. The designs will include PLC's, Microprocessor and SCADA.
Liaison with customers to ensure design meet specifications - this will include regular contact via phone, email and in person when the need arises. Therefore worldwide travel is essential on occasions
Ensure designs are innovative, and can be produced to maximise cost effectivity and therefore increase profitability
Programme PLC using Ladder Logic ( Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi)
Co-ordinate production activities - and work with a team to improve process and manufacturing methods
To ensure that through a system of feedback from production, design time improves efficiency and saves labour hours in future production.
Monitor the budget for the project and keep all-relevant parties informed of any excess costs, or where cost savings can be made

Additional information
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Experience in control system design is essential, although support will be given to those with limited experience in this field.
Must have experience Programming PLC's ( Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi) with a knowledge of Electrical and electronic systems design

Customer contact is an essential part of this role. Therefore World Wide travel will be expected on occasions.
Understanding of budget and cost savings is a pre-requisite.
