APPLICATIONS ENGINEER - Working for a global automotive company you will understand and interpret customer requirements for fuel injection equipment and engine management systems and to ensure that activities performed meet these requirements.

ROLE: Duties to include carrying out relevant analysis of the tasks and resources required in order to plan for all engineering activities through to production. Required to devise, plan and carry out test work and calibration programmes to confirm and develop the FIE and EMS system to be suitable for the application. This work will include procurement of sample hardware, work on test rig, engine dynamometer and vehicle at both Delphi and customer facilities. This role will involve a broad spread of engineering disciplines and a good understanding of engineering principles is a requirement. Practical work is expected as well as theoretical.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Degree in mechanical engineering with engine and vehicle calibration experience of electronically controlled FIE systems. A truly flexible and willing attitude is essential, as staff will regularly find themselves encountering new situations, whilst often needing to undertake routine work.You must also be capable of working on your own, with minimum supervision. Excellent communication skills are essential. Excellent interpersonal skills are also required as the role will require extensive customer contact.
