Job Title Applications Engineer
Employer Profile:
Our client is the leading design and manufacturer of auxiliary components for capital machinery used in the oil & gas and chemical industries. The company are currently employing 6000 staff around the world with 450 staff covering two sites in the UK. With world wide sales of £400 million this company has a huge amount of prospects and development opportunities to offer any one joining them. Our client is a firm believer in supporting individuals through training and will support any internal applications to grow into other departments.
Role Description:
The role of the Applications Engineer is to work within the design and R&D department. You will take on requirements from clients through out Europe for off the shelf and bespoke components. It will be your responsibility to consult with the client to establish sizes, materials and suitability. You will work on prototypes and assist the testing department to ensure the components work to the specified parameters. You will be the point of contact until the delivery of the product. This role is a mechanically biased role for a practical minded engineer. Part of the role will need you to make presentations on your projects to internal and external clients.
Required Experience:
Mechanical Qualification HND/HNC Degree
Theoretical understanding of Rotating Machinery (Engines / Gearboxes / Motors)will be beneficial as will any experience of a testing environment or FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
Excellent communicator
Salary & Location:
£24k - £29k plus package
