Division: Power/Train
Position Description:
a) Work with component engineers to define test requirements
b) Manage, monitor and update all DVPs for component Engineering Sign-Off (ESO) Testing.
c) Participate in and carry out testing for team
d) Work with TransT&D team, materials labs and Rig testing facilities to support ESO
e) Support resolution of issues across all components - particularly where practical work is required.
f) Be responsible for workshop support; including component/vehicle prep' or sign off on behalf of team.
g) Liaison with component suppliers to support all aspects of signoff testing.
Skills Required:
Knowledge of Auto transmission fundamental operation.
Experience in Testing and Development in automotive environments - ideally Auto Transmission related
Working knowledge of DFMEA and DVP (must be core skills)
Good PC skills including Microsoft Office and MS Project
Experience in accelerated vehicle & component rig testing (including test preparation) Full Driving licence
Good experimental design skills
Skills Preferred:
Good Supplier Liaison and Management skills
Issue resolution techniques (ideally formal 5D, 8D of six sigma DMAIC process understanding)
Excellent communication skills
Working knowledge of project delivery processes - GPDS, eFDVS
Working knowledge of change management processes - AIMS, WERS, Knowledge of CAE tools & analysis techniques.
Experience Required:
Ideally, 5 years experience as a test and development or component/project engineer within an Automatic Transmission Department.
Candidate should demonstrate a proven record and detailed knowledge of test and development activities within this field.
Education Required:
An HND or Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering

Position Description:
Development Engineer
a) Lead the Development Validation on Vehicle and HILST for the TCM, Drive Line and GSM.
b) Lead the generation of DV procedures.
c) Provide support to resolve issues affecting the vehicle build.
d) Support EMC & End of Line Production testing.
e) Lead the environmental testing both in the UK and overseas as required. Support vehicle or vehicle rectification & Lead the update of DVP status
Skills Required:
Main requirements are for powertrain control development experience. With good electronics background, with fault finding capability using diagnostic CAN tools, including scopes, multi-meters, etc....Control Algorithm development, Test Plan generation, CAN message definition/specification, liaison with internal departments, Driver interface (messages/shift lever etc), Hardware problem resolution, Software Test & Validation, System de-bugging/reflashing of modules. A valid UK driving licence.
Skills Preferred:
Good communication and presentation skills, good PC/IT skills, flexible, committed, self starter, able to deliver in all circumstances. Fault Tree Analysis, Hazard Analysis, Hardware specification development and integration requirements capture and definition, liaison with Manufacturing and Service diagnostic teams.
Experience Required:
Successful delivery of at least 1 previous Powertrain control system and design, development and calibration project to meet whole world requirements for a major OEM or supplier Working knowledge of developing Powertrain control systems that meet customer expectations. Working knowledge on use of INCA, Matlab, Excel, Word, Project and Access. Specific working knowledge of the Powertrain Control System used on the program Proven project time line management
Experience Preferred:
Working knowledge of project delivery process GPDS & FPDS Working knowledge of change management processes AIMS, WERS, PNR/PACN, PMST support Appreciation of vehicle dynamics and drive line mechanics would be an advantage.
Education Required:
Qualified to degree standard or equivalent experience in Electronics, Software or Control System Engineering. Other degree will be considered depending on experience.
