Reporting to the Reliability Material Handling & Infrastructure Team Leader, as Fleet Reliability Team Engineer you will be responsible for first line fault diagnosis, effective planning, management and delivery of electrical engineering and maintenance solutions to Material Handling related plant and equipment. In so doing you will assist the team in meeting operational and financial targets and delivering an overall contribution to Energy Branch performance.
Principal responsibilities will include:
•Support, contribute to and maintain the health, safety and welfare of self and others via the proactive delivery of a Personal Safety Action Plan
•Actively contribute to the management of the Fleet Reliability MH & I Team
•Defined plant area responsibility for West Burton MH & I Team electrical apparatus/plant.
•First line fault identification and diagnosis followed by appropriate repairs and maintenance procedures
•Provision of technical expert support to Production colleagues
•Operate and control of budgets (OPEX and CAPEX) >£2m per annum
•Complex technical project and contract management, including management of contractors
The role requires flexibility to work within any element of the Integrity and Reliability teams and at any Power Station within the fleet, as may be required from time to time, at the reasonable request of our client, as determined by business need.
The post holder will work closely with the Production staff and other and Reliability and Integrity colleagues. Reasonable training and development may be necessary to meet the changing business needs.
Qualified to HNC level upwards in an Electrical Engineering discipline, you will have significant experience of a full range of duties in electrical maintenance in a heavy engineering environment. Experience in managing contracts, including conducting negotiations and to deliver high value project works, as well as a background in budget management, including planning, is also required. You should have knowledge of modern maintenance management techniques and a thorough understanding of relevant engineering good practices. Comprehensive knowledge of safety requirements involving the use of contractors and a proven ability to plan and prioritise appropriately and to meet deadlines would be a distinct advantage.
